That surgery can take around 2 hours, and is performed under general anesthesia. Breast growth can cause loss of self–confidence. Nowadays it can be fixed with this type of surgery. This problem can be cause by drugs, medication or medical problems. Some cases are untreatable. The surgeon will examine the patient’s thorax to determine if the patient is eligible for this type of surgery, and what type of surgical technique will best suit the patient’s needs.
Recovery after surgery:
In some cases a small drainage might be placed on the thorax, and a dressing support with a compression garment are recommended. Moderate pain is normal after surgery and can easily controlled. Drainage pipes will be removed after a week. Physical activity should be avoided for the first 6 to 8 weeks. You will continue to see improvement for several months after the surgery. Redness on the scars might be present for up to one year.
