(tommy tuck)
Skin stretching and removing fat excess from the abdomen are performed under general anesthesia and takes from 1 to 4 hours, often combined with liposuction. Incision is made around the umbilicus and in the lower abdominal area. This surgery can improve the appearance of the upper abdomen. Tommy tuck is often used for patients who have lost significant weight or have very severe excess skin and laxity. Most common patients are those who had bariatric surgery or after pregnancy to recover their curves. This surgery has different techniques for every patient.
Recovery:
Patients stay at the clinic for 1 to 2 days after surgery. Post-operatory consultations every day with your doctor at destination until your return back to your country. Moderate pain is normal after surgery and can easily controlled. You can return to work in few days if you have a sedentary job (not a physical job). We recommend up to 6 weeks after surgery to do any intense physical activity. You will continue to see improvement for several months after the surgery (from 3 to 6 months), and scars will take up to 12 months in some of cases with redness. An elastic band is recommended for all patients with abdominoplasty .
