What is liposuction?

Liposuction, also called liposculpture, is one of the most commonly performed surgeries, and one of the safest. It consists in removing fat deposits, having resisted to exercising weight loss diets. It’s a procedure that’s been performed regularly over the last three decades, and whose results today are highly natural.

How does the procedure go?

Liposuction can last up to 4 hours, and is performed under general anesthesia. The surgon inserts a small tube in the targeted area, and injects an anesthetic solution, adrenaline and bicarbonate, to reduce sensitivity, avoid bleeding and dry the body fat. The surgeon then removes the excess fat, and can also stretch the skin to give it a tighter and tender look.
If needed, the surgeon can also remove fat from the breasts area, or tighten the skin to give it a more symmetrical and ferm look.

Recovery

Patients will stay at the clinic for a period of 1 to 3 days after a genioplasty for daily post-surgery check ups. After the procedure, moderate pain is to be expected but can be controlled easily. Patients most of the time can go back to work a few days after the porcedure depending on their area of work. We recommend that patients wait at least 6 weeks to practice intense physical activity again. During the months following the procedure, continuous improvements will be observed. For a determined period of time, he continual wearing of the compression garment will also be recommended.
